Quick answer
Open Reports to pick an HTML or Power BI template from the SeveUp catalogue, or download the Power BI starter kit connected to your models. Then share an HTML report through a live link that you can revoke from the Folder, and apply your organisation's logo and colours to dashboards.

Introduction
A SeveUp App report is built from a template: a web report (HTML) or a Power BI template. This article explains where to find these templates, how to prepare a Power BI project already connected to your models, how to share a report through a link and then cut that link, and how to show your organisation's identity on dashboards.
The generation itself, step by step, is covered in Create an HTML or Power BI dashboard. This article does not repeat it.
Prerequisites
- At least one processed IFC model in a Folder: most templates need one.
- For compliance scores, IDS requirements attached to the Folder.
- For the logo and colours: being an organisation admin.
Catalog of HTML and Power BI reports
In the menu, the Reports entry opens on the SeveUp catalogue tab: ready-to-use templates, designed and maintained by SeveUp. The second tab, My templates, lists your organisation's templates.
Each catalogue card shows the format, "Web report" or "Power BI", and the required data among "IFC model", "IDS requirements" and "Model health". A status line says whether the template is ready on your data ("Ready on 3 models", for example) or what is missing ("Missing: …").
To find a template:
- the "Search templates" field;
- the "Filter by goal" filter: "All", "Quality", "Compliance", "Quantities" or "Trend";
- the "Sort" menu: "Recommended", "Newest" or "Popular".
The main action of the card depends on the situation:
- "Use this template" opens the "Create a dashboard" wizard with this template already selected: you only need to pick your models;
- "Prepare your data" leads to what is missing, for example adding a model or creating requirements;
- "Contact us" appears on a template marked "Reserved", offered on request.
The card menu offers "Quick preview" and "View details". The details page covers "What you get", "Required data", "Frequently asked questions" and "Latest updates". When an example exists, "See a live example" opens a real report generated on a public sample model.
To adapt a catalogue template, use "Duplicate into this project" or "Duplicate into the organisation". The copy is editable, but it no longer follows SeveUp updates. If no template fits, "Describe my need" sends your request to the SeveUp team, who replies by email.
In the "My templates" tab, New template adds your own template: "Power BI (.pbit)", which also accepts a zipped PBIP project, or "HTML report (.html)". To write an HTML template, the "HTML template creation guide" card provides a kit to download.
Power BI kit connected to your data
The "Power BI starter kit" is a Power BI project already connected to your models' data, with the 3D viewer and ready-made tables. You build your report in Power BI Desktop, then upload it as a template.
Open the kit
In Reports, My templates tab, click the "Power BI starter kit" card.
Choose the Folder
Under "Folder", choose a Folder of the project.
Choose the models
Under "Models", every model of the Folder is checked: uncheck the ones to leave out.
Download
Click Download the kit (.zip). You get a zipped Power BI project (.pbip) to open in Power BI Desktop.
Light tables are loaded from the start: models, objects, types, classification, spatial tree, positions and IDS compliance. The others are ready to enable in Power Query.
When your report is done, zip the project folder and upload it with "New template": it will connect to the chosen models at each generation. To rework a Power BI template you already uploaded, its page offers "Download as PBIP project".
The kit reads data through a share link limited to these models, revocable from the app. It never contains your account key.
Revocable sharing links
A live link shows an HTML dashboard to someone without an account. The data shown follows the dashboard: it changes with it.
To create a link, at the end of the "Create a dashboard" wizard, click Share online. The link is created and copied to the clipboard.
To find and manage your links, open the Folder, "Generated dashboards" tab. The Live links column shows the state of each link: "Active link", "Expired" or "Revoked". From this column:
- "Copy" copies the link address;
- "Open" opens it in a new tab;
- "Revoke this live link" cuts it at once. Whoever opens it afterwards sees that the link has expired or been revoked.
An archived dashboard suspends its live links while it stays archived. Deleting it permanently revokes its live links and its publications.
For a frozen version rather than a live view, the "Publish" button of the "Publications" column freezes the data and template at that moment. Each publication link has a name and a "Link expiry": "30 days", "90 days", "365 days" or "No expiry". "View version history" lets you "Revoke" one link or "Revoke all links" of a version. Only HTML dashboards can be published, and the 3D view is not available in a published version.
Organization logo and colours
The organisation's logo, brand colour and, when complete, palette are applied automatically to dashboards.
Open the console
At the bottom of the menu, click My organisation, then the Identity section.
Add the logo
In the "Brand" block, "Choose a file" accepts a PNG, JPEG, SVG or WebP image. The logo appears in the dashboard header.
Set the colours
Fill in the "Brand colour" and the "Secondary colour" in #RRGGBB format.
Complete the palette
In "Dashboard palette", fill in "Compliant", "Warning", "Error" and "Not applicable", or click "Generate from the brand colours". Then click Save.
The palette is all or nothing. When the 6 colours are filled in and consistent, they replace the SeveUp palette in every dashboard: buttons, statuses and charts. Otherwise dashboards keep the SeveUp palette and only the brand colour shows as a band.
What can go wrong
- "This folder has no model: add one before generating the kit.": the Power BI kit needs at least one model in the chosen Folder.
- "Inconsistent palette: fix these colours to be able to save.": saving stays blocked until the palette is fixed.
- "Only HTML dashboards can be published.": a Power BI dashboard cannot be published as a frozen version.
- "Public publishing is turned off for your organisation.": an administrator can turn it back on in the console, "Public sharing" section.
FAQ
Does a copy of a catalogue template receive SeveUp updates?
No. A copy made with "Duplicate into this project" or "Duplicate into the organisation" is editable, but it no longer follows SeveUp updates.
Does the Power BI starter kit contain my account key?
No. It reads data through a share link limited to the chosen models, revocable from the app.
What is the difference between a live link and a publication?
A live link shows data that follows the dashboard. A publication freezes the data and template at the moment you publish: later changes do not appear in it.
