Quick answer
Open the Naming conventions screen, click New convention, enter a name and, if needed, a delimiter, then save. You can then assign it to the models of a project created from Catenda. SeveUp App does not reject badly named files yet: they are imported normally, without any message.

A naming convention describes how models should be named. In SeveUp App, this screen lists your conventions: you can create, rename, archive and restore them. Today, a convention sets the rule and can be assigned when a project is created from Catenda. It blocks no file: a name that does not follow it does not stop the import.
Prerequisites
You need access to the “Naming conventions” screen of the library, which depends on a plan feature: the table is only displayed when that feature is available for your account. Settling the name and the delimiter before you start saves you from recreating the convention, because the delimiter can no longer be changed after creation.
Create a convention
New convention
On the “Naming conventions” screen, click New convention above the table, to the right of the search field, or use the same button shown in the “No naming conventions yet” message when the list is still empty.
Name
In the “New convention” window, fill in the “Name” field. It is required: without a name, saving is refused.
Delimiter
If needed, fill in the “Delimiter” field, three characters at most. It exists only at creation: the “Edit convention” window offers the name alone. Choose it before you save.
Save
Click Save. The “Convention saved” notification confirms it, the window closes and the list reloads. Cancel closes the window without creating anything.
Read the table
The table has two columns: “Name” and “Properties”. The second shows a badge with the number of properties in the convention. The most recently modified conventions come first, 20 per page, with Previous and Next to move around. Search filters only the conventions on the page you are looking at, so a convention sitting on another page will not show up until you change page. A note under the table says so.
Edit, archive and restore
The Actions menu at the end of a row offers Edit and Delete. Edit changes the name only. Delete opens a confirmation window explaining that the convention will be archived rather than destroyed, and that it can be restored later from the “Archived conventions” section located below the table. Open that section, then click Restore next to the convention you want back. The “Convention restored” notification confirms it.
Apply the convention to an import
The conventions screen runs no check. It only defines them, and it does not show the detail of the rules, just the name and the number of properties.
In the interface, a convention can be assigned in one place only: when creating a project from Catenda, with the “Naming convention” field. It then applies to every imported model, and its name appears on each model's page. The bulk import from the library and the other connectors do not offer this choice.
SeveUp App then splits the file name using the delimiter. If the number of parts matches the number of properties in the convention, each part is saved on the revision. Otherwise no value is saved and the file is imported anyway: there is no rejection and no message.
Since properties cannot be entered on this screen, a convention created here has none, so this split produces no value. An automatic check of names on import is planned, it is not available yet.
What can go wrong
Could not load naming conventions
The table shows “Could not load naming conventions” in red, or the detail returned by the server when there is one. Click Retry. If the error persists, reload the page and check your connection before contacting support.
The table is empty
With no search running, the message “No naming conventions yet” and “Create your first convention to get started.” mean your account has no active convention. If you typed something in the search field, the message is “No results”: the page you are on simply holds nothing that matches. Remember that archived conventions are not in the table.
Saving fails
A “Something went wrong” notification appears and the window stays open. An empty name blocks the form. Check the “Name” field, then save again.
Deleting fails
The notification repeats the detail given by the server when it provides one, otherwise “Something went wrong”. Read that detail before trying again: it usually explains why the convention cannot be archived.
Failed to restore convention
This notification appears when restoring did not work. The Restore button stays available: try a second time, then reload the page if the message comes back.
FAQ
How do I create a naming convention?
Open the “Naming conventions” screen, click New convention, enter a name and optionally a delimiter, then click Save.
Can I change the delimiter of an existing convention?
Not from this screen. The “Delimiter” field is only offered at creation, while the “Edit convention” window lets you change the name alone. For another delimiter, create a new convention and archive the old one with Delete if you no longer need it.
Where do I add or edit the properties of a convention?
Not from the interface. The form only contains the name and the delimiter, and the “Properties” column just displays how many there are.
What happens to a deleted convention?
It is archived, not destroyed. It appears in the “Archived conventions” section below the table, where Restore puts it back into service.
Does SeveUp App reject badly named files?
Not yet. A file whose name does not follow the convention is imported normally, without any message. An automatic check of names on import is planned.
